The History of Evangelism is a historical study of evangelism from the beginning of the Christian era to modern times highlighting salient figures representative of wider movements within evangelism history. Special attention will be given to evangelistic figures and movements from each of the three major Christian traditions (Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Protestant/post-Reformation) to demonstrate the varied activity of the Holy Spirit in the fulfillment of the Great Commission across time and space.

About the Instructor: Michael Lusk is an international evangelist and founder of Vanguard Evangelism. He has ministered in open-air evangelism outreaches and evangelism conferences around the world in over twenty nations. Michael earned a master of theology degree (ThM) with an emphasis in historical theology from Dallas Theological Seminary (2025, summa cum laude), and was chosen by the faculty as the 2025 recipient of the Deibler Award in Historical Theology. He is the host of Deep Wells, a podcast exploring ancient insights into enduring questions. His research interests include patristics, Eastern Orthodox theology, and historic evangelism methodologies.
